{"id":7521,"date":"2025-12-07T17:23:16","date_gmt":"2025-12-07T17:23:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/exclusivesamplewebsites.com\/michaelneemft\/?p=7521"},"modified":"2025-12-07T18:03:03","modified_gmt":"2025-12-07T18:03:03","slug":"stress-guilt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/exclusivesamplewebsites.com\/michaelneemft\/stress-guilt\/","title":{"rendered":"STRESS + GUILT"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" data-fontsize=\"24\" data-lineheight=\"normal\">STRESS + GUILT<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Stress<\/strong> is at an all-time high, so take the proper time to mitigate its effects.\u00a0 This can feel as troublesome (who has the time?) as they are necessary (make time for good self-care!).\u00a0 Without slowing down to take the time for good self-care, how can a person take care of anyone or anything else?<\/p>\n<p>During the current pandemic, <strong>stress<\/strong> can have a number of effects.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/michaelneemft.com\/family-therapist-services-in-marina-del-rey\/\">Anxiety<\/a>, depression, even anger, tend to see an uptick.\u00a0 The same may be said for guilt.\u00a0 So whether guilt is its own effect or linked with anxiety or depression, I am not so sure it matters.\u00a0 What does matter is what guilt (feeling bad) is trying to obfuscate <u>and<\/u> clarify.\u00a0 Considerations of both aspects can quickly modify perceptions; behaviors can follow accordingly.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, someone mentioned that they\u2019d been feeling more guilt than usual.\u00a0 While at work, guilt for not being with their family.\u00a0 While with family, guilt for not being hard at work, for having less of their \u201cbest self\u201d to offer.\u00a0 When finally getting some \u2018downtime\u2019 or time for exercise, guilt for not working more or being with family.<\/p>\n<p>What had been a fairly typical relationship to <strong>stress<\/strong>, even a healthy dose of it to ensure productivity, abruptly veered into guilt-ridden unmanageability.\u00a0 What had previously been manageable seemed no longer feasible.\u00a0 While it is quite understandable to feel a myriad of difficult emotions as a result of <strong>stress<\/strong>, what to do is paramount.<\/p>\n<p>In each realm of life indicated \u2013 personal, <a href=\"https:\/\/michaelneemft.com\/contact-michael-nee-marriage-therapist-marina-del-ray\/\">professional<\/a>, familial \u2013 <strong>stress<\/strong> causing the guilt indicates a discrepancy with being present in the moment. We may even find that guilt is equal to the level of being elsewhere in any of the three categories:\u00a0 work, family, self.\u00a0 The goal is to adjust the level of being present when realizing all three need time and space for life to be in balance.\u00a0 To be in balance, we must play or relax or be with our family within this overall equilibrium.<\/p>\n<p>So listen to your symptom.\u00a0 Get to know it.\u00a0 This is the necessary shift in perspective to enable behavioral solutions.\u00a0 Relate to it differently and attach to the desired or intended possibilities.
